Odisha Railway Accident Rescue Operation Complete: High Level Investigation - Railway Minister Ashwini
Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that, The rescue operation has been completed and restoration work has started. We will thoroughly investigate this incident and will ensure such incidents don't happen in future.
Yesterday late night railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reached the Balasore train accident spot to ensure proper rescue operation. He thanked NDRF officials who are actively engaged in the search and rescue operation in Balasore.
"Our focus is on rescue and relief operations. Restoration will begin after clearance from district administration. A detailed high-level inquiry will be conducted and the rail safety commissioner will also do an independent inquiry", says minister Ashwini.
Yesterday before reached the spot, railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw tweeted saying, "Rushing to the site in Odisha. My prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and condolences to the bereaved families. Rescue teams mobilised from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. NDRF, State govt. teams and Airforce also mobilised. Will take all hands required for the rescue ops".
And minister Ashwini also announced ex-gratia compensation to the victims of this unfortunate train accident in Odisha; ₹10 Lakh in case of death, ₹2 Lakh towards grievous and ₹50,000 for minor injuries.
